Lara Lutz, LAMT is certified and licensed to practice large animal massage in the State of Washington and through the National Board of Animal Acupressure and Massage (NBCAAM). Lara is located on Whidbey Island, and serves clients in Island, Skagit, Snohomish and King counties and is also available to travel within the greater Western Washington area.
Lara began riding at the age of 10 and has since enjoyed learning about the care, management and well being of equines. When Lara adopted Arabian gelding Louie from Save a Forgotten Equine (SAFE) in 2013, she began looking for alternative ways to keep her arthritic riding partner happy and comfortable. That is when Lara sought out massage education and fell in love with the work. While it is thrilling to assist the performance horse and help riders achieve their goals in the show ring, Lara has a passion for helping the senior or retired equine maintain comfort and health. Lara enjoys schooling dressage and exploring the trails with horses Louie and Amber.
Lara graduated from the Northwest School of Animal Massage (NWSAM) in 2016 and has training in maintenance and performance massage, as well as Manual Ligament Therapy. Lara has completed the following coursework through NWSAM:
Level 100 Maintenance Massage (200 hours) - completed March 2016
Level 200 Performance Massage (150 hours) - completed July 2016
Manual Ligament Therapy Foundation Course - completed September 2016
Lara carries professional insurance through Associated Massage and Bodywork Professionals (AMBP).
